Fluidix perfect pourer: the challenge - how never to have a single drip or dribble? How to have perfect control? The answer is a device with internal moving parts actuated by a handy flip-top. The geometries overcome multiple failure-modes that would otherwise cause drips to drip and dribbles to dribble. The coaxial air-supply tube promotes laminar flow - so no glugging. Hundreds of iterative steps and prototypes went into discovering the combination of geometries, their scale and the movements required to create a perfect pourer. Fluidix is designed for the delivery of cooking and consumption oils, cordial sweetening syrups, maple syrup, alcoholic drinks, solvents and fuels. Fluidix is patent-pending.

Autogrip 3D: auto-adaptive robotic grippers: the challenge - how to get hold of just about anything with a single device, and in an environment where precise control is impossible? The answer is an auto-adaptive mechanism whereby the forces acting on multiple grippers as they come into contact with an object cause the device to adapt to the shape of the object. This is an exploitation of the principle of under-actuation, the generation of complex movements from a single actuation. The benefit: reliable manipulation of objects varying in size, mass and deformability in environments where it is impossible to know enough to achieve precision control. The Autogrip 3D grippers are patent-pending.

Twizzle: super easy-to-use bottle and jar opener: the challenge - how to take the tops off bottles and the lids off jars in an easy and intuitive way? The answer is a conical device split to one side with a pair of handles and a set of annular ledges within the cone designed to fit standard bottle tops and jar lids. The ledges are made from a slightly deformable, grippy material. The result is a device that feels comfortable in the hand and doesn't need any explanation. The target audience is anyone who has ever struggled, and possibly failed, to get a top off a bottle or a lid off a jar. The arthritic, the elderly, anyone with small hands or recovering from surgery - anyone. Twizzle also takes corks out of sparkling wine bottles and Champagne. Twizzle is patent-pending.
